Located in your Course in Canvas

Background

  • Gottesman Libraries' new, permanent course reserves platform is Course Resource Lists, implemented in Spring 2022 and available to all credit-bearing courses at Teachers College
  • Though located in Canvas, the platform is its own application (powered by Ex Libris' Leganto), in the same suite of applications as Primo (Educat+), the libraries' catalog and discovery platform and Alma, the libraries' administrative platform

Types of Resources

Course Resource Lists are a home for many types of resources assigned in your courses:

  • Electronic resources, including Ebooks, articles, and streaming films, licensed by the Gottesman Libraries and Columbia University Libraries
  • Open access articles, Ebooks, and webpages
  • Records for print texts on physical reserve at the Gottesman Libraries
  • Scans of small excerpts of texts only available in print at the Gottesman Libraries

Benefits

  • Search and retrieval of library resources within your course in Canvas
  • Lists are retained and can be rolled over to subsequent semesters
  • Resources are connected to the libraries' live catalog, so you need not copy and paste permalinks
  • You can communicate with the library directly from your Course Resource List
