EndNote is a program by the company Clarivate, which also owns the products Web of Science and Proquest. Launched in 1989, it is the oldest major citation manager available today. One of EndNote's best selling points is its ability to search within databases directly in the program to save to your library. It also is well-liked for its citation-sharing capabilities—while Zotero and Mendeley both have this function, EndNote's functionality is the most seamless.
